Police Arrest Jagiellonia Bialystok Capo – 06.08.2011

Last week, police entered the Jagiellonia Ultras section and arrested the capo. There was no violence before or during the match, no use of pyro, or anything else. An officer entered the capo stand and told him that he was being detained and had to leave with them. The charges were random and completely falsified. While the cop tried to lead him off the stand, another member climbed up the ladder and stopped the officer from leading the capo down. Very good solidarity from the fans.

Fans chanted “Leave him alone!” and “Gestapo” at police during the arrest. It was also discovered earlier that police installed a sliding gate at the exit of the Ultras section so they could quickly contain fans, stopping them from being able to exit, in case they decided to do a mass arrest. These gates go against FIFA and Polish stadium regulations as they give supporters no safe exit in case of fire or other emergencies. This discovery stopped fans from using more intense language or actions against the police in case they decided to close the gate and just arrest everyone.

After the capo and another fan (who was charged with assaulting an officer, although no assault takes place during the entire video) are lead out of the stadium, the remaining fans stay silent until the second half. Once the final whistle was blown, it was reported that the capo was released by police. The police told him they had made a mistake. How convenient that they discovered this at the final whistle.

Police have been cracking down against Ultras groups who hang banners or chant slogans against Poland’s Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, who has been repressing fans across Poland in order to please UEFA Mafia for their upcoming Euro Cup next summer. Donald Tusk has tried to use Ultras in Poland to distract attention away from their behind schedule stadiums, highway repairs, and other economical problems that plague Poland.
